About Ning's Yard

An eco-retreat centre on Lantau Island, tucked away in the green valley of Mui Wo, was founded in 2020 during the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic as a humble response to our challenging times of climate catastrophe and social upheaval. The vision is to enhance the possibility of creating liveable futures - living in integrity with ourselves, each other, and with nature, and in appreciation of their intricate inter-connections.

The Mission

To cultivate a living process of inquiry, exploring relational synergies that are regenerative and restorative for people and planet and discovering what it means to live in a more harmonious and connected way of being.

Our Ethos

Eco-Centered Design & Craftsmanship

From integrating waste management systems and upcycling local resources to salvaging ancient bricks and doors from China and using natural materials, every space in Ning’s Yard is attentively created and creatively curated based on permaculture ethics, regenerative principles, and sustainable design, while seeking to reawaken the value of upholding traditional craftsmanship and culture.

Embodied Healing Practices

Our connection to ourselves and our bodies is where the healing begins. Embodiment practices use the body as a tool for healing through self-awareness, mindfulness, connection, self-regulation, finding balance, and creating self-acceptance. The holistic integration of these practices deepens the relationship between our physical being and our energy.

Creative & diverse community in service

Ning’s Yard places special emphasis on creating a welcoming environment for community engagement. Its aim is to catalyze creative collaboration nurtured by an alter-economic system that engages in emergent processes and explores decolonial approaches to ecology, land, knowledge sharing and solidarity.
